What sort of palace is this? Where the Queen pulls a sword upon the King, and he upon her. Where they destroy one another behind closed doors, yet in public dance like lovers.

Created for the Just Us Collective, the theme was ‘Friend or Foe.’ I played around with the theme and in the end chose a scene from ‘Pride and Prejudice.’

…and she walked up to him, slowly, placing both hands on his shoulders. Her hair was loose today, very rarely was she seen with this golden feature so wildly upon her shoulders, rather than held back in braids and ribbon. Her eyes were wild too, they barely blinked as she stood there, they were on the brink of tears in desperate thought, not even close to the divine being he and so many others would imagine her to be. He felt his hands tremble, almost afraid of her, what was this beastly presence that made him loose control? He had always been so very strict, so orderly. Since he had met her, he had been in ever more of a confused and consistently troubled state of mind. Was the freedom she always offered him, really worth the internal struggle which seemed entwined within it all? If feeling this love meant that he would feel every other form of emotion with such emphasis, did he want to feel at all?
